Analytics & Tracking
Connect Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to your business page
Track visitors, measure conversions, and understand where your customers come from — all from your hosted business page. Both integrations are plug-and-play: paste your ID, save, done.
Before You Start
- You must have a published business page (Dashboard → Business Page → toggle Publish)
- You need admin credentials set up on your page (Dashboard → Business Page → Admin tab)
- Your page must be live at widgetfied.com/biz/your-name
Google Analytics (GA4)
Track page views, visitor behavior, traffic sources, and session data on your business page.
Get your GA4 Measurement ID
- Go to analytics.google.com and sign in
- If you don't have an account, click "Start measuring" and create one (free)
- Create a property for your business page
- Go to Admin (gear icon) → Data Streams → click your web stream
- Copy the Measurement ID — it looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX
Add it to your business page
- Go to your Widgetfied dashboard → Business Page
- Click the Admin tab
- Scroll to "Analytics & Tracking"
- Paste your Measurement ID into the "Google Analytics ID" field
- Click Save / Publish
Verify it's working
- Open your business page (widgetfied.com/biz/your-name)
- Go back to Google Analytics → Reports → Realtime
- You should see "1 active user" — that's you
- If it shows up, tracking is live for all visitors
What you get
- Page views and unique visitors
- Where visitors come from (Google, social media, direct)
- How long people stay on your page
- Which devices they use (mobile vs desktop)
- Geographic location of visitors
Meta Pixel (Facebook)
Track visitors from Facebook ads, build retargeting audiences, and measure ad conversions.
Get your Meta Pixel ID
- Go to business.facebook.com → Events Manager
- If you already have a pixel, click it → Settings → copy the Pixel ID (15-16 digit number)
- If you need to create one: click "Connect Data" → Web → name it → Create
- The Pixel ID appears in the setup screen or in Settings after creation
Add it to your business page
- Go to your Widgetfied dashboard → Business Page
- Click the Admin tab
- Scroll to "Analytics & Tracking"
- Paste your Pixel ID into the "Meta Pixel ID" field
- Click Save / Publish
Verify it's working
- Install the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension
- Visit your business page (widgetfied.com/biz/your-name)
- The extension icon should turn blue and show "PageView" detected
- In Events Manager, your pixel should show as "Active" with incoming events
What you get
- Track visitors from Facebook and Instagram ads
- See landing page views vs ad clicks (spot bounces)
- Build retargeting audiences (people who visited but didn't book)
- Create lookalike audiences for better ad targeting
- Measure cost per visitor and cost per booking
Common Questions
Do I need both?
No. Use Google Analytics for general traffic insights. Use Meta Pixel only if you're running Facebook or Instagram ads. You can use one, both, or neither.
Will this slow down my page?
No. Both scripts load after your page content is visible (afterInteractive strategy). Visitors see your page first, tracking loads in the background.
Is my visitors' data shared with Widgetfied?
No. The tracking data goes directly to your Google Analytics or Meta account. Widgetfied never sees or stores this data.
What if I paste the wrong ID?
Nothing breaks. The tracking script will load but won't connect to any account. Just correct the ID and save again.
Can I remove tracking later?
Yes. Clear the ID field and save. The tracking script stops loading immediately.
