Partner FAQ
When do I get paid?
On the 1st of each month, for the previous month's referral revenue. Payouts are via Stripe or ACH once you cross a $50 threshold (we roll over balances below $50).
What counts as a referral?
Any signup that clicks your referral link and completes signup within 90 days. Attribution is first-touch — the partner who introduced them wins even if the client shops around later.
Does the 12 months reset if they upgrade?
No — 12 months starts from their first paid month. Tier upgrades within that window still earn you 25% of the new (higher) MRR.
Can I refer my own company?
If you run an SMB we'd sell to anyway, yes — the free tier is always free, so you only pay (and earn) if you upgrade.
Why only 12 months instead of lifetime?
A time-boxed window keeps the economics honest on both sides. Clients who stay past 12 months are usually sticky and we reinvest that margin in product + support instead of trailing fees forever.
What about transaction fees?
Widgetfied takes a 1.3% fee on processed transactions; that's how we keep the subscription tier low. The 25% commission applies to subscription MRR only, not transaction fees.
Do I need a website?
No. Your referral link works anywhere — email footers, client proposals, a Twitter bio, a PDF. Many of our best partners do zero landing-page work.
Who is this NOT for?
High-end custom dev shops (we replace your scope), non-SMB agencies (wrong ICP), and affiliate-only 'hit & run' operators. We vet lightly to keep the partner directory useful.
